Why Upgrade to a Mono LCD?
The original ELEGOO Mars and Mars Pro use a 5.5-inch 2K RGB LCD. This upgrade replaces the original screen with a larger 6.08-inch 2K monochrome LCD.
Monochrome LCD technology offers higher UV light transmission than traditional RGB LCDs, allowing shorter exposure times and improved printing efficiency.

Faster Printing Speed
The monochrome LCD provides better UV light transmission than the original RGB LCD. This allows resin to cure with shorter exposure times. The settings used by our team are approximately 2.5 seconds exposure compared with approximately 8–12 seconds for the original RGB LCD, depending on the resin and printing conditions.
Longer Screen Lifespan
Monochrome LCD technology is designed for prolonged exposure to UV light. Our testing and product documentation indicate an expected lifespan of over 2,000 hours, compared with approximately 200 hours for the original RGB LCD.
Improved Contrast and Detail
A monochrome LCD designed for resin 3D printing provides improved contrast compared with the original RGB screen, helping reproduce sharper details and edges on printed models.
Compatibility and Motherboard Requirements
For ELEGOO Mars and Mars Pro, the upgrade kit can be installed directly on compatible V2/C motherboards.
Some early ELEGOO Mars / Mars Pro printers use an L5.5-10.1 board, which does not support this FHD/mono LCD upgrade. Please verify your motherboard version before ordering.
Firmware Update Required
Because this upgrade replaces the original LCD with a monochrome screen, the printer firmware must be updated before printing.
You only need to update the required .CBD and .SH4 files.
Printer Compatibility
In our testing, this upgrade kit can also fit the original ELEGOO Mars. However, the original Mars uses a different UV LED light source, so print quality may not be the same as the Mars Pro or other mono-screen printers.
ELEGOO Mars 2 and Mars 2 Pro already come with monochrome LCDs, so this upgrade kit is not needed for those models.
For the original Anycubic Photon, an additional motherboard replacement is required to use this monochrome LCD upgrade.
Adjust CHITUBOX Settings After the Upgrade
After installing the upgrade kit, you can use the ELEGOO Mars 2 Pro settings as a starting point in CHITUBOX.
Because the physical printing area changes after the upgrade, the actual printing size will be larger than the original 5.5-inch screen but will not reach the full 6.08-inch screen area. Please use the recommended settings shown below.
