In FDM 3D printing, filament moisture is often one of the biggest variables affecting print quality. To help users manage and dry filament more efficiently, Chitu Systems has launched FilaPartner E1 Filament Dryer.
FilaPartner E1 supports drying up to four spools at once, features dual independent heating boxes, and has been optimized in structure, storage convenience, and energy efficiency.
01|Dual-Chamber Independent Heating for Diverse Material Needs
Through in-depth user research, we found that more and more 3D printing users are using multiple types of filament (such as PLA, TPU, ABS, etc.) in a single print. However, different materials require different drying temperatures and durations.
Traditional dryers usually only have one box, forcing users to dry filaments in batches, which is inefficient. FilaPartner E1 adopts a dual-chamber structure, where each box can be independently controlled for heating. This accommodates different drying conditions for various filaments, improving preparation efficiency.
Each box has four filament outlets, totaling eight—accommodating various printing setups, whether placed next to the printer or on a shelf.
02|More Than a Dryer—Also a Storage Box: Modular Design for Space Efficiency
Besides drying, filament storage is also a major concern for users.
FilaPartner E1 features a detachable dual-box design. Each box can be used independently or stacked for compact storage. This not only saves desktop space but also allows for better storage when not heating. Combined with reusable humidity indicator cards and reusable desiccant packs, users can monitor filament humidity in real time and determine if drying is needed, improving daily filament management.
At the same time, two removable magnetic panels are attached to the bottom of the box to cover the circulating hot air vents, enhancing the sealing effect during storage. When heating, users can simply place the magnetic panels into the designed magnetic slots at the bottom, keeping everything neat without affecting airflow circulation. Each box is equipped with anti-slip pads at the bottom, ensuring stable stacking without easily slipping.
FilaPartner E1 heating boxes are also available for individual purchase, allowing users to scale flexibly based on their needs and customize their setup. These features make switching between drying and storage more efficient and significantly enhance daily usability.
03|Energy-Efficient and Sustainable Solution
Sustainability is at the core of our product design philosophy, helping users reduce resource waste in everyday use.
Modular design benefits energy management. Users can choose to heat only one box based on actual usage, avoiding the energy waste of heating all four spools when using only one or two. The dryer includes reusable desiccant packs and humidity cards to reduce disposable material use.
We also offer automatic drying and silent modes for better energy efficiency during unattended use:
● Automatic drying mode monitors humidity and starts drying when it exceeds 50%, stopping when it falls below 25% to save energy.
● Silent mode lowers fan speed to reduce noise, cutting heating efficiency by about 30%. When ideal humidity is reached during drying, the device switches to silent mode until the preset drying time ends.
In our product design philosophy, we consistently uphold the principle of sustainability, helping users reduce resource waste in daily use while enhancing comfort.
04|Optimized Structure for Balanced Temperature Control
Large drying boxes often suffer from uneven temperature distribution between the center and corners. If not managed properly, the center may overheat and deform the filament, while the corners may not dry adequately.
To address this, we conducted multiple structural and airflow redesigns. Testing confirms that FilaPartner E1 effectively maintains temperature uniformity, ensuring each spool is dried in ideal conditions.
05|Behind the Scenes: Creating a Dryer Box That’s Useful Even When It’s Off
The structural design of FilaPartner E1 was one of the biggest challenges in its development. At first, we set a seemingly simple goal: a dryer that could also be used as a storage box, with two detachable parts that could be stacked. What we want to deliver is a dryer that not only dries but also be loved by users when it's not heating.
We explored many options, including interlocking grooves and magnetic alignment. In the end, we chose a minimalist and reliable approach—micro-positioning edges on the box rim and lid. This allows the dryer to function as a regular filament storage box even without the heating function.
06|User Feedback: We Listened to Every Voice
FilaPartner E1 has been sent to several active 3D printing enthusiasts for testing. Feedback shows they love the freedom offered by the dual-chamber design and appreciate the structural and color aesthetics. The price point also offers solid market competitiveness.
Some users noted that the outer shell still feels a bit plasticky. We responded honestly: this is a trade-off we made to balance core functionality, cost control, and product accessibility.
We believe most users care more about actual drying performance and functional value in everyday 3D printing. While keeping the price reasonable, we’ve focused more resources on improving performance and usability.
Of course, we welcome all user feedback and will continue refining the product’s appearance and user experience.
If you’re open to it, we’d really appreciate your feedback—click here to contribute.
