405nm UV Meter for Resin 3D Printers

Measure 405nm UV light intensity and uniformity to better understand your resin 3D printer's exposure performance. The Chitu Systems UV Meter helps you monitor UV output, identify potential dead-pixel-related exposure issues, compare light uniformity, and optimize resin printing settings.

Why Use a UV Meter for Resin 3D Printing?

UV-curable resin responds to a specific amount of light energy during printing. Changes in UV intensity can affect curing, layer adhesion, exposure time, and overall print quality.

Measuring your printer's UV output gives you actual data that can help you evaluate exposure conditions and make more informed resin printing adjustments.

Measure 405nm UV Light Intensity

The Chitu Systems UV Meter is designed to measure UV light around the 405nm wavelength commonly used by resin 3D printers. Its sensor provides measurable UV intensity data from different areas of the printer's exposure screen.

Check UV Light Strength and Uniformity

Test different points across the exposure area, including the center and corners, to compare UV intensity and identify variations in light uniformity. You can also use the meter to compare the effect of different accessories, such as FEP films, nFEP films, and screen protector films.

Identify Potential Dead-Pixel-Related Issues

Some LCD screen problems may not be immediately visible to the naked eye. Measuring UV output at different points can help identify abnormal exposure areas that may contribute to failed prints.

Monitor UV Output During Printer Maintenance

UV light output can change over long-term printer use. Regular measurements can help resin 3D printing farms and frequent users monitor printer condition and determine when exposure settings may need adjustment.

Optimized for 405nm Resin Printing

Different UV light sources can produce different measurement characteristics. The sensor can detect light within the 380–440nm range, while the built-in filter and firmware are optimized for more accurate measurement around 405nm.

Usage Suggestions

  1. Use a 5V power supply. Connecting directly to the printer's USB port before printing is recommended.
  2. Keep the probe away from resin. If resin gets onto the probe, clean it carefully with isopropyl alcohol and cotton.
  3. Use the UV meter indoors. Extreme temperatures above 70°C or below -10°C may affect measurement results.

Attention: Due to differences in UV light uniformity and screen transition rates, different test points may produce different measurement results. This is normal.
