Step-by-Step Guide
How to Install Snapmaker U1 Enclosure
Installing a Snapmaker U1 enclosure is straightforward when you follow the correct assembly order. This guide walks you through the complete setup, from frame assembly and cover installation to hook-and-loop fastener placement and final checks. If this is your first time installing Chitu Systems Top Cover for Snapmaker U1, follow the steps below from start to finish.
1. What You Need Before Installation
Before you begin, unpack all components and make sure everything is included:
· Hook-and-loop fastener 1 *1
· Hook-and-loop fastener 2 *3
· Thermo-hygrmeter *1
· work gloves *1
· 3-way corner connectors *8
· Rod D *6
· T-joint connectors *4
· Straight connectors *2
· Rod C *4
· Rod B *4
· Rod A *6
· User Manual *1
· Cover *1

We recommend assembling the frame on a clean, flat surface before installing the enclosure on your Snapmaker U1.
2. Assemble the Top Frame
Start by assembling the rectangular top frame.
Insert the appropriate frame rods into the 3-way corner connectors and other connectors according to the installation layout.
Push each rod fully into the connector. Properly seated rods help prevent the frame from becoming loose during installation.

Tip: Before moving on, check all four corners and make sure every rod is fully inserted.
Once assembled, the top frame should form a stable rectangular structure.
3. Assemble the Bottom Frame
Next, assemble the bottom frame.
Use the remaining frame rods, straight connectors, and corner connectors to complete the structure shown in the installation guide.
Make sure every rod is fully inserted so the frame remains stable and properly aligned.

When finished, gently press and move the frame to confirm that there is no obvious looseness.
4. Install the Frames Inside the Enclosure
Place the assembled bottom frame into the corresponding section inside the enclosure.

Next, install the second frame around the top opening.

The enclosure has built-in hook-and-loop straps that hold the frame rods in place. Wrap the straps around the rods and secure them one by one.

If a rod is difficult to insert, slightly loosen the nearby straps first. Once the rod is correctly positioned, fasten the straps again.

After installing both frames, check that:
· The frame sits evenly inside the enclosure
· All rods are fully inserted
· All frame-retaining straps are securely fastened
· The enclosure feels stable and properly shaped

5. Attach the Hook-and-Loop Fasteners to Snapmaker U1
Before placing the enclosure on the printer, attach the included hook-and-loop fasteners around the top edge of Snapmaker U1.

The printer has silicone plugs at the four corners, along with alignment points on the longer sides. Use these features to position the fasteners correctly.

Start by applying the front fastener along the front edge of the printer. Then attach the remaining fasteners along the sides and rear edge as shown.

For the best fit:
· Keep each fastener as straight as possible
· Align it closely with the printer edge
· Do not overlap separate fastener strips
· Make sure the surface is clean and free from dust or oil before applying the fasteners
6. Attach the Hook-and-Loop Fasteners to Snapmaker U1
Once the hook-and-loop fasteners are in place, you can install the enclosure on the printer. Position the assembled enclosure above Snapmaker U1.
We recommend starting from the rear. Align the rear section of the enclosure with the hook-and-loop fastener at the back of the printer.

Once the position looks correct, slowly lower the enclosure into place.
Then adjust the two sides and the front, pressing the enclosure firmly against the corresponding fasteners around the printer.

DO NOT secure every side completely at once.
Position the enclosure first, check the overall alignment, and then adjust each side as needed. This makes it easier to keep Snapmaker U1 top cover level and properly aligned.

Insert the temperature and humidity monitor in the front. This makes it easier to know the condition of printing right now.
7. Check the Final Installation
After installation, inspect the enclosure from all sides. Make sure:
· All hook-and-loop fasteners are securely attached
· The enclosure frame does not wobble
· The enclosure is correctly aligned with Snapmaker U1
· The internal frame straps are tight
· The enclosure does not interfere with any moving printer components
· The fabric is not twisted or excessively stretched
Once everything is secure, your Snapmaker U1 Top Cover Enclosure is ready to use.
Should You Keep Snapmaker U1 Enclosure Closed When Printing PLA or PETG?
When printing with PLA or PETG, we recommend unzipping and opening the enclosure to maintain proper airflow. Keeping the enclosure fully closed for long periods can cause heat to build up inside the printing area. When printing PLA, excessive ambient temperature may increase the risk of heat creep or nozzle clogging.

For materials such as ABS and ASA, which generally benefit from a warmer and more stable printing environment, the enclosure can be closed depending on the filament manufacturer's recommended printing conditions.
Final Thoughts
Snapmaker U1 Top Cover Enclosure uses a simple frame-and-fastener design, making installation straightforward without complicated tools. Once the frame is assembled, secure it inside the cover, attach the hook-and-loop fasteners to the printer, and position the enclosure correctly. A properly installed Snapmaker U1 enclosure can help reduce drafts, dust, and pet hair while providing a more stable printing environment for temperature-sensitive filaments.
